HISTORY:
The Koonunga Hill range was first released in 1976, named after the Koonunga Hill vineyard in South Australia. It represents Penfolds’ commitment to quality, consistency and approachability.

BLEND & AGING:
Aged 8–12 months in a mix of American and French oak, predominantly seasoned barrels.

AROMA (NOSE):
Ripe blackberry, plum, blackcurrant, spice, chocolate and subtle oak notes.

TASTE (PALATE):
Medium-to-full bodied, soft tannins, smooth and approachable.

FINISH:
Medium-long finish with lingering fruit and spice notes.

FLAVOR:
Generous fruit flavours with balanced structure; Shiraz adds spice and softness, Cabernet contributes framework and depth.

FOOD PAIRING:
Pairs well with grilled meats, stews, pasta, lamb chops and braised dishes.
